The Sun Odyssey 49DS revives the elegant lines of the classic by combining the talents of the best designers: Phillipe Briand for performance and Vittorio Garroni for the elegance. In partnership with the Jeanneau Design Department, they have created an exceptional sailing boat. The twin wheels allow for the maximum ease when at the helm and provide instant response to the helmsman. The boat longs for offshore passages. In the name of simplicity, the Harklen deck software is perfectly integrated to provide open spaces that lead to large lounging areas.

Classic charm and modern efficency, the Sun Oddysey 49DS stands out without imposing. The elegance of Sun Odyssey 49DS is found in the harmoniuos lines. Lines that embody the spirit of the Jeanneau designers. The raised deckhouse and salon add to this effect. The cockpit is the most comfortable in its class. Onboard, every memeber of the crew will simply feel lucky to be in perfect communion with the sea. Sun bathing, reading, relaxing and soft music create a serene calm in a nautical setting for the everyday life.

The discreet luxury of the Sun Oddysey 49DS is expressed by the light teak woodwork and framed by the large Venetian blinds that diffuse the sunlight inside. For intelligent design in a "Deck saloon", the key words are volume and comfort. Every cabin harmoniously emphasizes the generous nature of the boat and renders life at the sea easy day after day.

The best technology has to offer is found onboard this large sailboat to enchance cruising. From the galley, completely equipped for the long passages, to the comfortable saloon, life onboard is a true pleasure. Every technical detail has been thought out to providecomfort at the sea.

This boat is designed for sailing in winds that may exceed force 8 on the Beaufort scale and in waves of a significant height of 4 m and more, and the boat is to a large extent self-sufficient. Unusual conditions such as hurricanes are excluded. You may meet with such conditions when you sail long crossings, for instance across the oceans, or close to the shore, when you are not protected from the wind or waves over several hundreds of nautical miles. The significant height of a wave is the average height of the upper third of the waves, that approximately corresponds to the height of a wave an experienced observer can assess. Some waves will be twice as high as this value. The conformity of the SUN ODYSSEY 49 DS model to the 94/25/CE directive is attested by Bureau Veritas.
