Kolocep Islandis the closest of the Elafiti Islands. It's not even 2.5sq km with a population of 148. Most of the island is dense forest interspersed with vineyards, olive groves and citruses. The only two settlements on the island are Gornje and Donje Celo and each has a small beach. There's also a small naturist beach.
The main settlement is the port of Lopud which has a number of cafes, restaurants and hotels, but inland there is little development--just luxuriant vegetation. Lopud island was once an important seafaring centre, boasting two monasteries, 30 churches and a number of noble palaces but little remains today.
On Sipan island the main port is Sudurad which is connected by road to Sipanska Luka, the other major town. In between is a verdant landscape of olive and fig trees, vineyards and citrus groves. Sipan is famous for its wine.
