DAY 1 | Dubrovnik arrival

Arrive at Dubrovnik Airport and take a transfer to hotel. Relax and enjoy some free time. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik

DAY 2 | Dubrovnik | Split

Dubrovnik has been enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage for decades now and exploring it in a guided tour makes for a grand opening of your Croatian journey. Walking its wall-embraced Old Town is like taking a step back in time to when this lovely town was an independent Republic. Stop to explore a still-operating pharmacy from 1317, the seat of the former Republic government at the Rector’s Palace and the revered Cathedral before travelling to Split in the afternoon hours along the scenic Adriatic coast and the picturesque Neretva River delta.

Dinner and overnight in Split.

DAY 3 | Split | Trogir | Zadar

The lively historic core of Split was once a one man’s retirement palace. The man was the Roman Emperor Diocletian and his modest home is today inhabited by 3000 people. In the vibrant, happening centre of Split the modern echoes against ancient stone walls. Your walking tour highlights the stunning landmarks like the theatrical open-air Peristyle, the Temple of Jupiter and the Cathedral of St. Dominus, the patron saint of Split. Next, continue to another UNESCO-listed jewel, the tiny but charming Trogir, where the Cathedral of St. Lawrence holds one of Croatia’s most remarkable portals, intricately carved by Master Radovan. Dinner and overnight in Zadar.

DAY 4 | Zadar | Zagreb

Struck heavily by not one, but two devastating 20th-century conflicts – the WWII and the Croatian Homeland War, Zadar is now reinventing itself and carving its spot on the Croatian tourism scene. A walk through Zadar is a stroll between landmarks of many eras, from the wonderfully preserved Roman Forum, Romanesque Church of St. Donatus, the walls which remind of the prolonged Venetian rule in the Renaissance times to the Instagram-famous modern-day installations, the Sea Organ and Salute to the Sun. As you drive out to Zagreb in the afternoon hours, you will understand why Zadar won the 2016 Best European Destination Award. Dinner and overnight in Zagreb.

DAY 5 | Zagreb | Plitvice

Despite a million people living here, Zagreb somehow manages to retain the cosy feel about it and you will best experience this wandering around the historic, fortified Upper Town. The place of legends, rebellions and witches burnt at stake, the Upper town is home of the Cathedral, St. Mark’s church with the colourful roof and several present-day government buildings. Spread out at its feet, the Lower town oozes a more modern, but still very continental air about it, with many highlights such as the Croatian National Theatre and the University. In the afternoon, swap the city for nature and drive out to Plitvice Lakes area. Dinner and overnight in Plitvice.

DAY 6 | Plitvice

Exploring Plitvice Lakes is a stroll through fantasy, with deep green forests poised gracefully along the sides of sixteen crystal clear lakes which overflow in a series of cascading waterfalls, some sky-high and others glistening over tufa-lined rocks. The air of freshness as you take it all in, the thundering of waterfalls as your strut about, the splashing of water below the planked trails, they all come together into an experience far away from the ordinary. A natural phenomenon of a rare and unique beauty, Plitvice immediately justify any superlatives your may have heard of them, carving a special spot in your travel memory as one of the finest natural sites around. Dinner and overnight in Plitvice.

DAY 7 | Plitvice | Dubrovnik

Today is the day to complete the circle and drive back down the country’s far south and your starting point, Dubrovnik. As you connect the dots of the islands scattered parallel to the ribbon of road wavering along the edges of the shore, plan your return. A tour as grand as this one calls for a grand finale so go all out in Croatia’s favorite Pearl of the Adriatic, King’s Landing, or simply – Dubrovnik. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.

DAY 8 | Dubrovnik departure

After breakfast, the tour ends with a transfer to Dubrovnik Airport.
